Day 1 - Depart USA Overnight flight to Berlin.
Day 2 - Arrive Berlin (2 nights) On arrival at Berlin's Tegel airport you are met and transferred to your hotel. There's time to relax and unwind before meeting with your Tour Director and fellow passengers this evening for a welcome dinner and drink. (Welcome Dinner)
Day 3 - Berlin sightseeing & at leisure This city's history is highlighted on our morning guided sightseeing tour. We'll see the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag, Kurfürstendamm and much more. Later, why not visit nearby Potsdam or the Pergamon on Museum Island" Berlin's nightlife is famous, you may wish to sample some of it this evening. (Buffet Breakfast)
Day 4 - Berlin — Warsaw (2 nights) This morning's journey takes us first to the German border town of Frankfurt-an-der-Oder. Then we continue into Poland, stopping at Poznan, with its charming City Hall and Gothic churches. Later, we will cross the central plains of Poland to the capital, Warsaw. Tonight, perhaps listen to a Chopin recital. (Buffet Breakfast)
Day 5 - Warsaw sightseeing & at leisure After breakfast our morning sightseeing tour which reveals the historic centre where much of the Old Town was rebuilt after the war. We will also see the site of the Warsaw Ghetto. This evening, we enjoy dinner in a typical restaurant. (Buffet Breakfast / Highlight Dinner)
Day 6 - Warsaw — Brest Litovsk — Minsk We cross the River Vistula to the Polish frontier. Soon we stop for lunch at Brest Litovsk before continuing via the Pripet Marshes to historic Minsk. Here an orientation shows us Leninsky Prospekt and Victory Square. This evening, we will enjoy a dinner of traditional cuisine at our hotel. (Buffet Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)
Days 7 - Minsk — Smolensk — Moscow (3 nights) An early departure as we drive through the countryside of Belarus. We cross the border into Russia with a stop near Yartsevo for lunch. Then we continue via Borodino, site of Napoleon's great defeat en route to fascinating Moscow, where we spend the next three nights. Perhaps this evening enjoy the extravagant show at the Moscow State - Circus! (Buffet Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner)
Days 8 & 9 - Moscow sightseeing & at leisure On our first morning a comprehensive sightseeing tour features such highlights as Red Square, St. Basil's Cathedral and enjoys a guided visit of the Kremlin. On one of your days here you could take an excursion to Zagorsk — once the centre of Russian art and architecture. On our second evening here we will enjoy an included trip to visit the Underground Palaces of the world famous Moscow metro which will take us to Red Square where we will enjoy a walking tour by night! Day 10 - Moscow — Tver — Novgorod First we drive via Klin — once the home of Tchaikovsky — and continue to the village of Tver, where we will enjoy an included lunch. Afterwards we drive through picturesque villages to ancient Novgorod, where on arrival an orientation shows us the "Kremlin" fort and grounds, the Millennium Monument and the St. Sophia Cathedral. Dinner is at our hotel tonight. (Buffet Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner)
Day 11 - Novgorod — St. Petersburg (2 nights) This morning our drive takes us across the vast Russian plains to St Petersburg where on arrival, with a local guide, we will visit the Hermitage Museum — one of the biggest repositories of paintings and beautiful artefacts in the world! Tonight we will enjoy dinner and complimentary champagne with our Tour Director and fellow travellers. (Buffet Breakfast/ Dinner)
Day 12 - St. Petersburg sightseeing and at leisure Featured on our sightseeing tour this morning are the Tsar's Winter Palace, Nevsky Prospekt, St. Isaac's Cathedral, the Russian museum, the statue of Peter Great and a visit of the Peter and Paul fortress. Maybe this afternoon you may wish to take an excursion to Petrodvorets and visit the Summer Palace of Peter the Great. (Buffet Breakfast)
Day 13 - St. Petersburg — Helsinki This morning, we leave Russia to drive through the forests of Karelia to the Finnish border. Then past the timber centre of Kotka and on to the Finnish capital of Helsinki. This evening why not enjoy some of the local cuisine" (Buffet Breakfast)
Day 14 - Helsinki sightseeing — At sea Our guided sightseeing tour this morning shows us Finlandia Hall, the Senate and Market squares, broad boulevards and the domed Russian Church. Then enjoy time at leisure perhaps to shop and sightsee further. Later we will board our Silja Line ship for an overnight mini-cruise from Finland to Sweden. (Scandinavian Breakfast/ Dinner)
Day 15 - At sea — Stockholm An early morning arrival in'Stockholm, Sweden's capital. Here a guided sightseeing tour features the Royal Palace and a visit to the City Hall. Then there's time on your own to wander through the old town or do some window shopping. Tonight, perhaps enjoy a candlelit dinner on the island of Djurgården. (Scandinavian Breakfast)
Day 16 - Stockholm — Copenhagen (2 nights) We travel past Lake Vättern and enjoy views of the Brahehus Castle. Then on through the forests and meadows of Småland before crossing the Oresund to Denmark and its cosmopolitan capital, Copenhagen. Your evening is at leisure. (Scandinavian Breakfast)
Day 17 - Copenhagen sightseeing & at leisure Our morning sightseeing tour includes a walking tour of the area around the Amalienborg Palace — an elegant quarter of 18th century buildings. Then through the historic centre seeing the 17th century Stock Exchange, the Christiansborg Palace, the Cathedral and the 19th century Theatre Royal. We'll see the Little Mermaid — the statue inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's fairytale. The rest of your day is free. This evening, why not visit the famous Tivoli Gardens and enjoy a traditional Danish dinner" (Scandinavian Breakfast)
Day 18 - Copenhagen — USA This morning after breakfast bid farewell to your new-found friends and your Tour Director as we transfer you to the airport for your return flight to America. (Scandinavian Breakfast)
