THE SCANDINAVIAN W/ICELAND EXT
Overview Click map for larger sizeThis Scandinavian vacation offers sparkling lakes, spectacular fjords, and more. Your trip starts in Copenhagen, Denmark, with a guided sightseeing tour. See the Little Mermaid and visit the Royal Reception Rooms in Christiansborg Palace. Of course, no trip to Copenhagen would be complete without a visit to Tivoli Gardens (open mid-April to mid-September), the city's colorful amusement park. From Copenhagen, you travel to Arhus, where you visit Den Gamle By, a fascinating collection of completely furnished old Danish town houses. In Sweden, travel to Gothenburg, Sweden's second-largest city, then Stockholm, Sweden's capital. Enjoy Karlstad on Lake Vänern before heading into Norway and Lillehammer, host of the 1994 Winter Olympics. Enjoy majestic mountains, dark pine forests, sparking lakes, and silvery trout streams on the way to Flam, where you have a special treat - a cruise on the spectacular Sognefjord. Next up: Bergen, Norway's second-largest city and the most characteristic of Scandinavian towns. Your trip ends in Oslo, Norway's capital, with a tour including a visit to the ornate City Hall and Frogner Park with Gustav Vigeland's famous stark sculptures. All special Globus features are included on this Scandinavia tour, like Hans Christian Andersen's home in Denmark and Gripsholm Castle in Sweden.
