Overview Click map for larger sizeDrive from San Francisco to Los Angeles via the stunning Pacific Coast Highway. There is plenty of time to experience San Francisco, the "City by the Bay." Visit Fisherman's Wharf - enjoy the local fare and stop by Pier 39-s many shops and restaurants. Take a cruise on San Francisco Bay with magnificent views of the Golden Gate Bridge, or visit infamous Alcatraz Island. Then, drive down the beautiful California coast. Head south on Highway 1 to Monterey. Don - t miss stunning 17-Mile Drive, offering spectacular views of the rugged California coast, including Point Joe, Fanshell Beach, and the famous Lone Cypress. Continue south to San Simeon. Here you can choose to visit the magnificent Hearst Castle and view an IMAX film that chronicles the history of the castle. Continue on to Solvang, where Denmark has been recreated with charming buildings and windmills. Take a short drive to Santa Barbara. Here you can visit the famous Santa Barbara Mission and Stearns Wharf. Final stop is glamorous Los Angeles. Drive through Hollywood and Beverly Hills.
