Whether it's relaxing by the pool, gambling, or going to see a top Las Vegas show, there is something here for everyone. Next, drive east to the Grand Canyon, one of the natural wonders of the world. Carved through the rocks of the Colorado Plateau over millions of years, the canyon is over a mile deep and 15 miles wide, revealing billions of years of geological history. Continue on to Monument Valley with its definitive red mesas and buttes surrounded by empty desert. The bright and deep natural colors are truly stunning, and the area has been filmed many times for movies, commercials, and magazines. Explore the countless canyons in Canyonlands National Park, where the Colorado and Green Rivers divide the park into districts, each sharing a desert atmosphere while retaining its own unique character. Then, on to Arches National Park, famous for its 2,000 natural sandstone arches, including the world-famous Delicate Arch. This morning, drive west through Capitol Reef National Park and see the "Waterpocket Fold," a 100-mile-long wrinkle in the earth's crust. Continue to Bryce Canyon National Park, where erosion has shaped limestone, sandstone, and mudstone into thousands of spires, pinnacles, and mazes.
